Aqua Bio Technologies introduces new Bio Softreat Enhancement for Bio Pro Complete Water Restoration Systems
Aqua Bio Technologies, LLC. a leading manufacturer of biologic water restoration, water reclaim, rain harvest, odor control, and reverse osmosis (RO) systems, is proud to introduce the Bio Softreat System as an add-on component to its Bio Pro Complete water restoration system.
Working together, the combined capabilities of the Bio Pro Complete and Bio Softreat system continuously produce an ample supply of clean, biologically restored water that is completely free of any impurities, chemicals, and minerals it may have acquired in the vehicle wash process.
Commercial car wash operators nationwide have successfully reduced their demand and acquisition costs for fresh, municipal water by reclaiming, restoring, and reusing the water for washing vehicles. Although water restored through the Bio Pro Complete system is clean – Oxygen levels +60% | Oil emulsion levels < 5ppm | PH 6.5 – 8.0 | COD reduction to 1:10 | BOD levels < 150 mg/l – sufficiently enough to be reused in the wash cycle, wastewater that is treated and filtered further through the Bio Softreat system has essentially the same qualities and clarity of distilled water. Water that is clean enough to be reintroduced into the system and used during the final, spot-free rinse process.
A Closed-Loop Water Resource: Now Open for Business
Together, the Aqua Bio Technologies solution creates the first truly closed-loop biologic water restoration system for vehicle wash businesses. The additional capabilities of the Bio Softreat system allow carwash operators to create a continuously regenerating source of clean, spot-free-rinse quality water – without the expense of adding new water into the system or disposing of wastewater through the municipal sewer system.
“The Aqua Bio Softreat system makes it possible for a carwash to truly have a closed-loop water treatment system,” says Tom Gibney, president of Aqua Bio Technologies. “The only fresh water an operator will need to add will be the water that is lost through evaporation and the carryout from the vehicles themselves. Over time, the water and sewer cost savings will have a huge impact on the company’s bottom line.”
The Bio Softreat system, recently unveiled during the vehicle wash industries annual Car Wash Show, takes biologically restored water and then processes it further through a carbon filter and RO system to produce clean, spot-free rinse water.
Taking direction from nature, Aqua Bio Technologies wastewater restoration systems incorporate cyclonic separation of solids, active bacteria to consume organics, oxygen to establish a healthy environment, and the natural cleaning power of aerobic bacteria to consume waste, such as the various cleaning chemicals used in the wash process.
A Growing Need for a Diminishing Resource
Residential water bans and stringent water use restrictions are changing behaviors, especially in the drought-prone south and the western United States. As drivers weigh the effort, inconvenience and increasing costs associated with washing their vehicles at home, commercial vehicle wash services are becoming a much more attractive alternative.
Industry research has shown a significant number of new carwash investors entering the market. According to the International Carwash Association (ICA) 37% of current carwash owners have owned their business for less than five years. And, demand continues to grow. The 2016 Professional Carwashing & Detailing’s annual survey found that nearly three-quarters of respondents noted ‘greater or much greater’ car counts and revenue in 2015 than in 2014. More than half expected their revenue to increase in 2016 from 2015 as well.
